Chelsea ‘keen’ on buying Sydney FC, reveals insider

English Premier League giants Chelsea  are said to be interested in acquiring Sydney FC for a hefty fee worth millions, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich’s chauffeur’s grandson revealed.

From The Stands understands that following the sacking of Sky Blues coach Frank Farina late yesterday afternoon, the Chelsea board held a meeting in the early hours of the morning to discuss a potential acquisition of Sydney’s second best club.

And the club insider revealed that owner Roman Abramovich is of the opinion that the clubs are ‘a match made in heaven’.

“After the news (of Farina’s sacking) broke, Abramovich called an urgent boardroom meeting to discuss a potential acquisition of Sydney FC,”  Roman Abramovich’s chauffeur’s grandson exclusively revealed to From The Stands.

“We’ve had 11 managers in the last 14 years or so. Likewise, Sydney FC are searching for their eighth in nine years. The similarities are evident, it’s a match made in heaven!

“Using coaches to establish legacies at a club is too mainstream; Manchester United are now counting the costs of their foolishness. Like us, their football philosophy is progressive so why not invest and buy success instead?”

Earlier today, From The Stands contacted Football Federation Australia regarding the potential move and it is believed that football’s governing body are sceptical of Abramovich’s motives, claiming that they are political in nature.

“We urge to Sydney FC to exercise caution in approaching Chelsea’s offer. The deal seems to be rather suspicious.”

Nevertheless, representatives from both clubs are set to meet early next week in Antarctica to finalise the deal.
