NPLNSW Round 7 Review

Another week, another Blacktown Spartans win. After only 7 games in NPLNSW, the Spartans already have an eight point lead.

Blacktown City 0:1 Sydney Olympic
This may have been Football NSW’s Match of the Round but it certainly didn’t live up to expectation.

Harris Gaitatzis converted a penalty for Olympic after Evan Kostopoulos was fouled by City’s Giorgio Speranza.

APIA Leichhardt 0:0 Rockdale City Suns
Rockdale goalkeeper Tomislav Arcaba was sent off in the 17th minute. Despite this advantage and large spells of possession, APIA were unable to find the breakthrough.

Bonnyrigg White Eagles 4:0 Marconi Stallions
Fans at Bonnyrigg Sportsground for this game were expecting a good game. Recent games between the two sides have always proven to be entertaining and lively.

Unfortunately for Stallions fans, the squad didn’t show up to play. Bonnyrigg’s Robbie Younis collected 4 goals as part of a ruthless display by his side that seem to be hitting their straps after a slow start to the season.

Manly United 0:4 Sutherland Sharks
All it took was a few minutes for Sutherland to blow this game wide open and out of reach for Manly.

Nick Littler got Sutherland off the mark just after half time. Panny Nikas scored twice to put the game out of reach and Nathan Elasi scored the Sharks’ fourth to complete the demolition.

South Coast Wolves 0:3 Blacktown Spartans
League leaders Blacktown Spartans travelled to WIN Stadium to face a Wolves side who had new coach Nahuel Arrate now in charge.

That didn’t matter as the Spartans continued on their merry way. A goal to David Gullo and a brace to Corey Biczo ensured the Spartans maintained their 100% winning start to the season.

St George 0:0 Sydney United 58
The poor weather for this game meant that neither side were able to gain the upper hand. It was another point to St George while reigning NPLNSW Premiers Sydney United continue their indifferent form.
