Notes
Despite Sutherland being reduced to 10 ten, it was an entertaining contest right until the final whistle.

Bonnyrigg came out like a house on fire. It was a welcome change for the White Eagles, who in the previous two games looked lethargic and sloppy. Aaron Peterson opened the scoring inside the first two minutes.

The White Eagles continued to dominate and created numerous chances, although failing to capitalise. Meanwhile Sutherland’s first opportunity came after 24 minutes. Steve Hayes picked out Seongjin Park on the right flank. The winger’s shot beat Chronopoulos but was cleared off the line by Nikola Zonjic.

Two minutes later Sutherland’s night was made tougher. Centre back Daniel Mitwali received a straight red card for bringing down Robbie Younis inside the box. Younis dusted himself off and took the penalty, thundering his shot straight down the middle to make it 2:0.

The red card changed the game but not in favour of Bonnyrigg. The red card galvanised the Sharks outfit, who came into their own throughout the rest of the first half. The Sharks played much better, outclassing the White Eagles who had gone back into their shell.

Sutherland were rewarded on half time. Striker Jordan Figgon pulled a goal back to send his into the break only a goal down.

The second half was a see-sawing affair. Both sides had chances in the early parts of the second half but neither side were able to score. Sutherland were arguably the better side during this period. Bonnyrigg coach Brian Brown brought on Yuta Kokado and shortly after also brought on Mun-soo Gil.

Kokado and Gil’s introduction shifted momentum back into Bonnyrigg’s favour. But even with the momentum back in the White Eagles favour, the score remained the same and the match finished 2:1.

Scout Notes
Based on the performance, you could not pick out a single Sutherland player for special mention. The Sutherland performance as a team deserves great appreciation as they played with courage and determination. This courage and determination ensured the game remained a contest for the entire 90 minutes.

For Bonnyrigg, two players stood out.

Ray Miller has had an outstanding start to his Bonnyrigg career. Coming in to replace the departed Adrian Ucchino and Ken Chun, Miller has fitted in seamlessly with the midfield dynamic. He controls the ball well, always looking for the pass and holds the ball well.

Yuta Kokado is another promising player for the White Eagles. He is yet to start a game, but has had quite an impact coming off the bench. Against both Sydney Olympic and Sutherland, his introduction has seen momentum shift back into Bonnyrigg’s favour. While he needs to fine tune his shooting, his energy and enthusiasm is infectious. Once he becomes consistent with shooting, he will be a valuable weapon to have, more so than he already is.
