World Game Fairytale
The World game is now a fairytale with its magical characters putting on the boots for teams and countries we have never talked about or cheered on before.

Lets start with 5000 to 1 Leicester City a team by most Football experts predicted to get relagated from the premier league, instead they captured our hearts and imaginations and turned even the most unlikely supporter of the beautiful game into a fan singing their praises and celebrating all their glory as they held aloft the premier league trophy and became Champions of the most popular and watched Football in league in the World.

I too found myself checking Leicester City results religiously and staying up all hours of the night to watch their quest in making the dream become a beautiful reality.Wow what a incredible ride!

Then we move to the European championships of 2016 in France and where does one start in the events that has been unfolding before our eyes. Who do we talk about First?

Iceland of course, the country with 300,000 people the smallest nation to ever play at the Euros and to be fair would of went home to a ticket take parade if they scored just 1 goal in this tournament but boy have they done more than that. The Vikings from Iceland are in the quarter finals of the Euros and after 4 games are yet to be beaten. With their last game a win over England, can you believe it? Apparently 99.8 percent of the country watched the match and 10percent of the population is in France, some 30,000 to cheer the mighty Iceland on.

What a story! Best summed up by that Icelandic commentator who may be officially crazy, crazy in love with Icelandic football but hey we may all be too!

Then there is Wales, I was up the other night cheering them on against the highest ranked European team at the Euros Belgium. Wales absolutely destroyed them showing you that on paper Belgium might have a team of superstars but football is not played on paper, it is played with pride, passion, devotion and a collective love to achieve the unthinkable. Wales had that and more on the night. 3, 1 it finished with Wales and its football loving nation singing themselves into the semi finals of the Euros!

I could talk about Poland, Hungary, Nth Ireland and the Repblic of Ireland but i think you get what we are all watching at the moment in World football.

The game is now a fairytale full of new characters and heroes , the new prince charming is not the same prince it was yesterday, but as fans we dont care we continue to turn the page and look forward to the next chapter and as always live happily ever after.
