Red All Over | Revenge

First home game of the year first loss of the year. Adelaide United are a side with a Championship hangover and a side who seems to be repeating last seasons early poor form.

.

Lets hope REDS fans it doesnt take us 9 games this campaign before we get our first win.The Grand final replay Friday night against Western Sydney Wanderers certainly did not have the same vibrance and silky slick ball movement or pace from both sides as it did in the grand final.  Instead it was played like two teams struggling to find any form and cohesion. At times it looked like both sides mostly the REDs didnt even knew each others names let alone knowing the game plan or tactics set by Amor.

.
However it is only round 2 and United have a pretty new squad with plenty of fresh faces so of course it will take a few matches before the lads get into full swing and start pinging the ball around without looking and knowing the movements by their team mates.

.
On a positive it was good to see Henrique the slippery fish get his first goal in a REDS shirt, he will certainly give alot of pleasure for UNITED fans this season, a typical goal from Henrique a swivel in the box and riffiled into the back of the net.

.
1 nil at half time to the REDs which was pleasing considering how disjointed the boys were.  The 2nd half saw United slowly get a bit more control and tempo of the game with the Wanderers reliant on quick counter attacks and rare flurries forward.

.

However commeth the hour and commeth the man SANTALAB, Western Sydney Wanderers Santa clause and boy did he deliver the presents, two goals of the bench including a last minute winner to give the Wanderers a handy away win against the Champions.

.

The revenge was complete!  The cheeky Santa even took out James Holland in a horrific challenge and instead of getting a RED he made United fans RED as he stayed on the park and banged in the winner to break our hearts at the Death.

.

That is Football though sometimes it lifts you to dizzy heights like the Grand Final win and sometimes it drops you hard on the ground like a dirty challenge washed down with a last minute winner to send you home a loser.  But we suck it up get back on our feet and look to bounce back hard against the Victory this Saturday night at Hindmarsh.

.
Nothing will make REDS fans feel better again more than a win over our bitter rivals Victory at home this Saturday night, so get back on the Roller Coaster guys this week could be a hell of a ride!
