RED ALL OVER | Heart Broken

Remind me why I love this game so much. What a season so far for REDS fans as this time our biggest rivals Melbourne Victory steal all three points in a final second sucker punch.

.

A game that proves you dont have to be the better team to win. Football can be unfair at times and the clash on Saturday night between Adelaide United and Melbourne Victory is a fine example of this. When Rojas popped up in the final play of the game to score the winner sending the well travelled Victory fans into ecstasy, I could feel my heart being ripped out and the Football gods saying you wont be needing that tonight!

Wow what a blow and Wow what a game of sheer crazy emotion. Do you laugh or do you cry?

.

A game of course loved by the neutral and loved by Melbourne Victory fans. I guess all i can say is hats off to them, the perfect way to win away from home and give your travelling fans a fair old night in the City of Churches.  No defending required, next goal wins if ever I’ve seen !!

.

So how did this epic battle unfold in front of 15,000 fans, which at times had Hindmarsh literally bouncing, just a incredible atmosphere. Well Berisha opened his account of the campaign after about 20 minutes as Adelaide United slowly woke up and began to chase the game once already falling behind.

.

One can’t help but think Berisha will start firing more goals for Victory in coming games now that the monkey is off his back. One nil at the break and Adelaide United needed a kick into gear to try and salvage something for the loyal noisey REDS fans.

.

To be fair Adelaide United came out firing on all cylinders in the second 45 minutes and after 68 minutes following alot of goal mouth pressure Tarek Elrich curled one into the top left hand corner to send Hindmarsh officially bonkers and peaking the atmosphere to heights like Mount Fuji on a warm summers day. The place was now going off!

.

Time for a winner REDS fans and if the Football Gods were listening Danny Choi’s shot in the final minutes would have snuck in and not hit the post, what a game of horrible inches hey REDS fans! Instead Adelaide United left the back door unlocked again and Rojas banged home the winner.

.
Adelaide United have now been hit twice at the death and robbed in their last two home games, We really need a new Locksmith and someone in that REDs defence needs to shut the gate before venturing out.  I guess lightning can strike twice unfortunetly for REDS fans we are all getting electricuted in the process.
