RED ALL OVER | Singing The Sky Blues

Well I guess that’s why they call it the sky blues as time after time Adelaide United lose.

The REDS tonight had their colours lowered to the unstoppable runaway train that is Sydney FC.  A side under Graham Arnold that is undefeated and now eight points clear at the top of the table.  Surely Arnold’s men are the real deal this season and would be firming as clear favourites to be crowned champions this year.

The first half was a pretty dull affair with both sides feeling each other out and not many clear cut opportunities created. United were compact in defense through Regan and McGowan which frustrated the home side as Sydney pressed for the opening goal. They probably should’ve had a one nil lead at the break when Holosko scored on twenty six minutes but the goal was ruled offside. A lucky break to the REDS as it was clearly onside.

The second half though saw a different Sydney FC and unfortunately for REDS fans a different Adelaide United as the Sky Blues kicked into gear and the REDS stalled at the lights.

On fifty eight minutes the home side took a deserved lead after a quality cross from Grant who found Brosque and the Sydney FC captain acrobatically volleyed it home. Arnolds men now smelt Blood and fear from the REDS and just two minutes later they put Adelaide United to bed with a 2nd goal after a goal mouth scramble which in the end saw Ninkovic curl it into the top corner of United’s Goal. Some real poor defending from the REDs who allowed the ball to bounce in the box and wasted several chances of clearing it from danger.

Sydney FC had now in a blink of a eye gone BANG ! BANG! and Adelaide were left to ask for the last two minutes of their footballing lives back.

The game ended with more Sydney Dominance with REDS heads slowly dropping and conceding defeat, if the game had of went for another two hours the Reds still wouldn’t have scored as it becomes blatantly obvious the Current Champions can’t score goals this season.

So Another Win for Sydney as they march towards the Minor premiership and remain undefeated. Who will stop Arnolds well oiled machine? Reds fans it’s looking like Sydney FC will be taking the crown from you this campaign as Adelaide United tonight sang the Sky Blues.
