RED ALL OVER | Patience

What is it about away trips for Adelaide United this season? The Reds have not won in their last ten away games, losing seven of those in total and scoring just a pathetic three goals. So when Melbourne Victory beat us 2-1 last night the result was nothing more than a sorry predictable story.

Adelaide United did stand tall for long periods against second placed Victory but if it wasn’t for some outstanding keeping from our teenage goalie Daniel Margush the REDS could’ve easily been a goal or two down at halftime. This lad is a promising talent and has the reflexes of a cat between the posts, a great shot stopper. One for the future to look out for in a REDS shirt.

Nil all at the break and the well travelled RED ARMY of supporters must of been sipping on their drinks fairly confidently inside AAMI Park.

The second half unfortunately showed the gulf in class between the two sides. A Melbourne Victory team who is the real deal this season and an Adelaide United team who is nothing more than a good youth side with some older heads. On sixty six minutes the KIWI MESSI Rojas curled in a sublime freekick that left Margush no chance and the home side took a deserved lead.  Just a beautiful goal from the top shelf of the Rojas locker.

Then on eighty two minutes Berisha who has the same goal tally as Adelaide United this season calmly curled the ball with the outside of his foot into the back of the onion bag. Talk about a quality finish, completely unphased by United’s rushing defenders.

United did get a late goal back from our work horse Tarek Elrich who to be fair put it away like a centre forward Adelaide desperately needs.

So another loss for the REDS and a record breaking 10 game winless away streak for UNITED. Things need to change and change fast if Adelaide are to get off the bottom of the table , having promising young kids is nice but this is the A league not the youth league! The boys need help and quality around them! The Mix is not right at the REDS, it’s an immature blend that may get better with age the question is do the RED’s fans have the patience.
