RED ALL OVER | Square Dance

Adelaide United continued their unbeaten run last night with a exciting one all draw with the boys out West.  Perth Glory came to town and will be happy to escape with a point. A game dominated by the REDS with Amor’s men continuing to show glimpses of a team that really should be higher than second bottom.

The mighty REDS started the game in great fashion and were good value on twenty three minutes when Dylan McGowan headed home after his partner in crime at the back Taylor Regan headed against the post from a Carrusca corner. The Big Central Defender McGowan was there to knock home the rebound and send the REDS fans into dream land.

However McGowan went from hero to zero in the space of about twenty minutes when on the stroke of halftime the central defender made a clumsy challenge on Perth Glory’s Castro, however REDs fans will say the Spaniard went down quicker than a Aussie batting collapse in India on a spinning deck. Castro though dusted himself off and easily converted the penalty, One all as the boys hit the sheds.

The second half really did see UNITED continue to dictate play and dominate proceedings, however the winning goal would just not come as Kenny Lowes Perth Glory held on for a valuable away point. Impressive displays by BABA DIAWARA the REDS new front man, he worked tirelessly all night and looks to be a very tricky customer in the box with some delightful touches.  Riley McGree again went round players with ease as this eighteen year old continues to impress not only REDS fans but the entire Australian football community. You can tell his game has gone up another notch after his time with the Socceroos.

So all square on the night but a game that was far more entertaining than the scoreline or result suggests. Keep up the good work Adelaide United is the chorus from REDS fans, if only we played like this in the first five games of the year!! The Champions are unbeaten in five and ending the season like the football team we know they truly are.  A bloody good side that has disappointed too much this campaign.
