Socceroos are coming to town…

The fate of our Socceroos will fall on the 8th of June at the beautiful Adelaide Oval when our boys face Saudi Arabia in what will be a must win for Ange Postecoglou’s men.  The Socceroos find themselves in third spot in their group and three points of Saudi Arabia in 2nd place. However a win on the night will see us leap frog the visitors and get into the vital automatic 2nd place qualifying spot for Russia 2018 with just a further two games remaining.

A night in Adelaide which will have the hopes dreams and aspirations of 24 million Australians, with not only three points on the line but literally qualification for the biggest show on earth.  So can we qualify for four world cups in a row? Can we go to our fifth World Cup overall? I would like to think so and I would like to think the 50,000 expected at Adelaide Oval on the night would agree or at least pray to the footballing gods with me.

With tickets selling fast, I would urge all South Australians to snap up the remaining seats available as this is arguably one of the most meaningful and significant qualifying games our nation has ever faced in Adelaide.  I would even hesitate to say the biggest game ever for Football in South Australia.

It is also a great opportunity to see some our most skillful and exciting Socceroos up close and personal, Timmy Cahill, Matthew Leckie, Aaron Mooy ,Tom Rogic and who knows maybe even Adelaide United’s Riley Mcgree tear it up on the magnificent turf of Adelaide Oval.  Just the thought of seeing those boys in the flesh taking it up to Saudi Arabia and fingers crossed putting a couple in the back of the old Onion bag gets me excited and pumped for this match.

So Socceroo fans of Adelaide it’s time to turn our Adelaide Oval into a Green and Gold fortress and cheer on our lads to Russia 2018. If we want to be part of the biggest dance on the planet then we need to be in the stands providing the beat and music for our national team…I mean it’s only the World Cup at stake!!
