RED ALL OVER | New Sheriff in Town

It’s eight in the morning and Adelaide United is hard at work training for the upcoming A-League season.  Our new German coach Marco Kurz has come into the REDS family and instilled a bit of old fashioned discipline, dedication and tough love on the playing group. Not only are the REDS starting early every day but the new German also has the lads pulling double shifts, no more one training session a day at United.  Marco has the boys putting in twice the effort, with a real push on fitness and possession based football. So as REDS fans one can only be optimistic by this new era of good old fashioned hard work to right the wrongs of last season.

However its not just the double sessions and early starts REDs fans should be excited about, the new German coach has also made two quality signings so far in his short time with at least two more to come. The first is a quality central defender in Turkish international Ersam Galum a no nonsense defender and leader on the park who will sure up our back four at the REDS this season and compliment Taylor Regan, Ben Garuccio and Tarek Elrich.

The second exciting signing is Danish international left winger Johan Absalonsen a great pick up by the club, this guy will dominate against A-League defences and not only beat players with his lightning speed but provide quality service to our new front man BABA Diawara.  If this pairing can get the right chemistry going expect goals and lots of them this campaign.

So all looks good at the back and up top for the REDs this year!  The gaping hole is still our midfield . Isaias will be the general in the middle of the park however he will need quality around him; a few of the young kids will need to step up this year. Our young guns in Kitto , Mileusnic and O’Doherty will all get a fair crack this season so let’s hope the new German Marco Kurz can take them to the next level under his experienced eye.

But REDS fans don’t be surprised if the two next signings are midfielders and experienced ones at that. The kids and Isaias will need help in the engine room on the park and my money is on the German getting it right in which he attracts to the club.

I can feel the optimism coming back to Hindmarsh and REDS fans starting to get excited by their team again.  Work is still needed on the squad but hard work is what Marco Kurz is all about. Marco will improve the young talent with his good old fashioned values of discipline and dedication to the cause and the new experienced players will compliment and improve the talented young squad. The early bird does get the worm and the Reds are looking like the early sessions will get them back to the top again.  Keep positive REDS fans there is a new Sheriff in town and his name is Marco Kurz.
