What a fantastic start by the new and improved REDS this season.  After two tricky away games to begin this years campaign Adelaide United have come away with four points out of a maximum of six on offer.

The first being a tough one all draw across the ditch in New Zealand, never a easy place to get a result and then last nights huge win in Brisbane to ensure all three points come back to the city of churches. United is a side under new coach Marco Kurz full of discipline, aggression, physical presence and silky skill out wide.  With a tough centre and lightning quick flanks. Quality imports have been introduced and young talent is starting to flourish under the new German.  The players are also at this early stage appearing fitter than any other team in the A-League.

This fitness was most evident with the win over the ROAR on Friday night when after fifty five minutes Adelaide United completely turned it on and steam rolled over the Brisbane side. Dominating possession and most importantly time in the opposing half, some nine corners to ZERO for the Reds in the final thirty minutes of this game.

So of course United would eventually crack the Roar after trailing one nil for over eighty minutes in this one. Ryan Kitto one of those promising young talents got the equaliser on 88 minutes a scrappy driving run in the box before a powerful shot that just couldn’t be stopped.  But if you thought the REDS would be happy with just a draw think again, United powered again forward for the winner and that man our new favourite RED Johan Absalonsen unleashed a rocket inside the box that smashed the underside of the crossbar before bulging the Brisbane net.

The great Danes 2nd goal in as many matches and the stoppage time winner on the night.  However the best player on the park and I believe the best current player in the A-League was the Adelaide United captain Isaias his domination in the heart of the midfield and link up play with our wingers, forwards and defenders is first class, a player with vision, accurate passing, ability to ghost past opponents and win the ball back.  Just the complete midfielder and perfect captain for the REDS this year, no wonder he was the man of the match in this game!

So REDS fans if you are not a member yet or excited by this seasons Adelaide United then I really don’t know what more you would want. This team Under the German is well balanced from defense to attack and full of diamonds that will glisten in sun at Hindmarsh this summer.  The REDS are back and back more importantly this Friday at Adelaide Oval against the old enemy Melbourne Victory.

Get your tickets, make some noise, dress in RED and enjoy the show, like a fine bottle of South Australian wine the UNITED BOYS are only getting better!
