The Biggest Rivalry
Well it’s almost here; finally the A-League is about to return and round one can’t come quick enough! Easily the best game of the opening round comes on Friday October 9th when the mighty REDS take on last season’s Champions. It’s Adelaide United v Melbourne Victory.
Let’s be honest these teams have a hated towards each other, and what better place to take this hate out than one of the best sporting grounds in the world, the beautiful Adelaide Oval, yes that is right no 17,000 seater Hindmarsh stadium for this one; It will be played at the much larger Adelaide Oval which drew 34,000 last time the teams met at this venue.
From the moment the Adelaide folk finish work Friday night and fill the bars and restaurants of the city, the town will change from a dull working grey to a sea of RED, with scattered Blue victory shirts thrown in for good measure. The Town will buzz and the RED ARMY march will slowly wander to the ground with singing and chanting replacing the pre game discussions from the pubs.
Don’t miss this one guys, Adelaide oval will be bouncing and you want to be a part of it. This is the ultimate rivalry in the A-League both on and off the field similar to that of Liverpool and Manchester United clashes in the premier league…two teams that just refuse to be mates and two states that refuse to be friends. This can be best summed up when John Kosmina strangled Kevin Muscat after Musky pushed Kossie off his plastic Bunnings chair….oh memories they are precious aren’t they.
So who will get the chocolates, for me obviously the REDS we have the new fire power up front in Eli Babalj and the pace out wide in skillful Mate Dugandzic and Craig Goodwin. lets not even get into how good our maestro Carrusca is in the centre of the park who will be joined this season with new hard man LaRocca. Then shoring things up at the back will be the classy Malik and the ever reliable Dylan Mcgowan. I haven’t even mentioned the best fullback in the League yet Tarik Elrich how good was that goal last season!! Shame he will be away on Socceroos duty with Galecovic. But I’m sure Amor will cover there absence.
So A-League fans, this will be one hell of a game to tune into or if in Adelaide get along too. The current champions will have a tough time starting off their campaign at our home ground.
SEE YOU on the hill and remember this is your league ….The greatest league of them all.

This is going to be a great, exciting matchup, with two bona fide clubs going for three points. I got Melbourne winning 3-2 in a goal festival.
