RED ALL OVER | We Are Family
Adelaide United for the first time in their history and for the first time in the history of the A-League will host the big dance at the beautiful Adelaide oval on what is looking like being a sold out grand final. The REDS opponents will be Western Sydney Wanderers in what will be a mouth watering clash on the famous turf of South Australia’s sports theatre.
Not only are the Wanderers coming to town but the passionate fans of the RBB will also tag along for the ride in their 1000’s adding to the occasion and atmosphere that I believe will be the best ever created in the newly developed Adelaide Oval. The chants, the singing, the passion in the stands will be something that South Australia and the Adelaide Oval has never housed before, let alone heard.
So Adelaide United’s success has been put down to family, the players say they are not just a team but they are a band of brothers a tight knit group that work hard , look out for each other and are not only team mates on the field but are all mates off the park. A family with Amor being head of the household. I tend to buy into it as only a group that truly believed in each other and genuinely cared for their fellow brother could have turned bottom of the league too top of the league come round 27. So lets group hug family and celebrate with the lads come May 1st.
The REDS certainly did destroy Melbourne City last Friday night, playing like a family indeed whilst the City boys were forced to sit at the kiddies table waiting for the adults to dish up their medicine. Larocca had Fornaroli under complete control sending the poor lad to the naughty corner and not letting him out till the final whistle. Mooy was sent to his room without dinner and made to think about the mess him and his team found themselves in at Hindmarsh on the night. 4-1, some family reunion for the REDs.
So as we wait for the Grand final this coming Sunday, I can’t help but get excited by the game that is heading to Adelaide for the first time. Football is the only sport that truly unites the world and on May 1st it will unite South Australia.
We will see that Adelaide is UNITED in more ways than one.
