While season predictions are never easy and usually end up embarrassing their writers come season’s end, we’ve asked a few of our writers and keen A-League followers to submit their picks.

Best Signing

David Hards: Adrian Mierzejewski (Sydney). Has been here four five minutes but seems a class above and should assist Sydney in a successful 2017/18 campaign.

Erin Morrow: Wout Brama (Mariners). Top notch experienced player coming in under the radar. Was playing Europa League the week before CCM signed him.

Damien Lewandowski: Karim Matmour (Adelaide). Silky, skilful, goalscoring machine.

Cam Gordon: Adrian Mierzejewski (Sydney). Looks head and shoulders above any other recent acquisitions by clubs.

Shane Smith: Kosta Barbarouses (Victory). Will play fantastic with better quality ball.

Ryans Rovers: Adrian Mierzejewski (Sydney). He looks to be a fantastic signing, only reason why I don’t think he wins the JW is that he will lose too many points to Ninkovic under the new voting system.

Biggest Potential Surprise

David Hards: Tim Cahill has been dealt a dud hand in what could be his final season of professional football. We could see the Socceroos great receive his marching orders on multiple occasions as he grows frustrated with the circumstances of his final curtain call.

Erin Morrow: CCM. Much improved squad with increased experience all round will get them moving up the table.

Damien Lewandowski: Central Coast Mariners.

Cam Gordon: Wellington returning to the top six.

Shane Smith: Kenny Lowe to go the whole season without a fine.

Ryans Rovers: Adelaide making the top 4.
