Unlucky For Some
13 unlucky for some but not unlucky for Adelaide United or their adoring 12,700 fans that packed out Hindmarsh and turned the spiritual home of Australian football into a wall of noise, a wall of RED noise and a theatre where the reds perform shows that have the players leaving too standing ovations.
.
13 games unbeaten, 33 points from the last 39 on offer and the REDS are now sitting pretty in 2nd spot just 2 points off top spot. Although Brisbane Roar did shade a lot of the possession in this one they were more like toothless tigers in the front third than ferocious roaring lions. Adelaide easily stood tall in defence and blocked any attacks the visitors threw at them. Again Elsey, McGowan, Elrich and Marrone played a vital role in keeping Roar scoreless over the 90mins and are proving to be a massive RED wall that can’t be penetrated.
.
Bruce Kamau continued his impressive form from last weeks winning goal with the 20 year old opening the scoring after 38mins. A real clinical finish after some brilliant quick passing between Cirio and Mauk that split Brisbane apart.1 zip to the Reds and that was the scoreline as the players hit the sheds at Halftime.
.
Again Brisbane Roar dominated the possession in the 2nd 45mins, but it was more of a kittens purr than a Roar of a lion and Adelaide were the team that got the vital goals. With the home side doubling their lead again from some handy work from Kamau whos shot was saved but spilled out to Bruce Djite and the big number 9 smashed it home. 2 nill now to the REDS and this game was pretty much in the bag for Adelaide after 51mins.
.
United made it 3 nill after 81 mins as super sub Pablo Sanchez came on and put one in the back of the onion bag after a shot from Djite fell kindly to the Argentine.
.
So 3 nil to the Reds and another 3 points to the mighty Adelaide United , another team swept aside and another step closer to top spot. Adelaide United fans it may be late February but the REDS are on the MARCH !
